Frequently Asked Questions

Can I connect my eSpring® Water Purifier or Carbon Water Treatment System to my refrigerator's ice maker?
Yes, you can connect your Below Counter eSpring system (note, only the Below Counter works with the kit) to your refrigerator's ice maker by purchasing the eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit (10-1398). This kit includes a pressure regulator and all the fittings you'll need to connect your eSpring system to your refrigerator's ice maker, except for pressurized 1/4 inch (6 mm) OD tubing, available from almost any local plumbing supply or hardware store. Determine the length of tubing you'll need, and choose the type of material you prefer. Choices include copper, pressurized polyethylene (PE), and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) that is FDA and NSF International approved for drinking water. To maintain your warranty, all components must be installed properly, following the instructions shipped with the eSpring Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit.

Does the eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit work with any refrigerator?

The eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit can be connected to any refrigerator/freezer equipped with an ice maker. If your refrigerator also has a water dispenser, you can connect the eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit to the dispenser and enjoy treated water, straight from the refrigerator. If your refrigerator only has an ice maker, you can still use the eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit to treat the ice.

Should I call a plumber to install my Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit?

With a working knowledge of plumbing and plumbing tools, you can install your Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit. You'll find detailed installation instructions packed in with your kit. Please read and follow these instructions carefully. If you need help, contact a professional plumber.

I have a countertop eSpring Water Purifier. Can I use this Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit with it?

No. The eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit is designed to be installed with the eSpring Below Counter Water Purifier or Carbon Water Treatment System only (includes unit and accompanying Auxiliary Faucet). This installation can provide the water pressure necessary for the Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit to operate properly. The eSpring Auxiliary Faucet can be purchased separately to allow for the eSpring Countertop unit to be moved below counter with connection to Auxiliary Faucet (Chrome 10-0663) and eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit (10-1398). You can, however, use this kit to convert your Above Counter system to function below counter and install a single-line faucet.

My eSpring Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit didn't include the tubing that goes from the eSpring system to my refrigerator. Why not?

The distance between refrigerators and the eSpring system varies greatly from home to home. Therefore, we recommend you measure the distance between your refrigerator and your eSpring system and buy only the length of tubing you need. Allow for one (1) foot extra, just in case. Tubing is available at a nominal cost at any home-improvement, hardware, or plumbing-supply store. Be sure to buy polyethylene (PE) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) that is FDA and NSF International approved for drinking water. (Note: Copper tubing that meets these standards may be used as well.) The tubing should be rated for 125 psi wp. and have an inner diameter of 0.170 in. and an outer diameter of 0.25 in. (1/4 in.).

Will the Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit affect the performance of my eSpring system?

Your eSpring system, when connected properly to your refrigerator's ice maker, will continue to reduce over 140 potential health-related impurities in your water and ice; no other in-home, point-of-use system reduces more. The Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit simply enables you to enjoy great-quality water, straight from the refrigerator or freezer.

Do I need to change the filter cartridge of my eSpring Water system more often when it's used with the Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit
?
Only if you use more water. To protect the quality of your family's water, the eSpring cartridge needs replacing just once a year or every 1,320 gallons, whichever comes first. 1,320 gallons is enough water to last a family of six for a year.

I have the Single Line Faucet / Ice Maker Conversion Kit attached to my below counter eSpring unit. How do I flush my new filter after a change with this setup?

You will first need to disconnect the hookup from the refrigerator. Then, flush your filter into a bucket before reconnecting.
